Welcome to Imagination Acres hobby farm website! Nestled in rural
Spotsylvania County, Virginia the 20
acre farm is home to a variety of different kinds of livestock and
poultry. Founded on February 2nd of 2009 the farm continues to grow and
change with each passing day, but the goal remains the same; to live a
more sustainable lifestyle focusing on the preservation and promotion of
rare and heritage breeds of livestock and poultry. The farm currently raises Belgian Hare and Rhinelander rabbits, Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats and Delaware chickens. We are also supportive of American Pit Bull Terrier rescue and rehabilitation, we currently foster with Bully Paws. Imagination Acres is a proud member of the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy, the American Rabbit Breeders Association, the American Belgian Hare Club, the Rhinelander Rabbit Club of America, the American Goat Society and the American Dairy Goat Association. Inquiries and questions regarding the animals the farm raises are very welcome. I encourage folks interested in getting started in our breeds or types of livestock and poultry to contact us with any concerns or help they may need. I do hope that you will consider adding a rare or heritage breed to your farm or family, only together can we preserve their unique history and ensure a bright and promising future for them. -Whitney Owner and Operator of Imagination Acres Latest News: June 10, 2010 The current litters of baby bunnies are growing like weeds. Our Valentine's day hare litter is nearly 4 months old and they look great! I've decided to hang onto the whole litter to grow out for a bit and see who I like best. The younger litter of hares is 6 weeks old and they look promising too. Unfortunately I haven't had the same luck with my Rhinelanders and only have 1 showable marked in my current litter and it doesn't look as great as I'd like. I have 2 more litters due next month, a Belgian Hare litter and a Rhinelander litter and that will wrap up my rabbit breeding plans until this fall. I'm hopeful this upcoming Rhinelander litter will give me something showable because at the moment my barn is dominated by unshowable Rhines! In sad news we lost our beloved Jules, one of the original pet bunnies today. She will be missed. The goats are all doing well, I'm beginning to make my plans for fall breedings for 2011 kiddings, originally I planned to sell my 2 baby goat wethers produced this year but instead will probably move them in with the buck I pick for the fall to keep him company.. the search is officially on for a herd buck! And finally, I have a whole bunch of cute baby chicks with another batch on the way soon to kick my poultry program back into shape! More photos and general website updates are pending, I'm really working hard to get every bunny photographed and posted on the website. Want to learn more about our pit bulls and pit bull rescue?
