Our rabbits are housed in a barn just for them, for the past 2 years they've been in an Amish designed cottage shed. New in Spring 2011 we have a brand new bunny barn! The building is an approximately 12' x 24' custom made open air designed barn. The barn is open on all sides to provide excellent airflow and ventilation year round with hanging and moveable curtains to keep weather out and prevent drafts. We have two ceiling fans mounted inside along with fluorescent lights to keep things nice and bright even on rainy gray days.
All cages are suspended on a unique mounting
system so that waste drops below to the ground. The cages are
mounted at standing height to eliminate the back breaking work of
loading and unloading bunnies from their cages. We use an automatic
watering system when it is above freezing and use crocks during the
winter, the auto watering system and hanging cages are a huge
timesaver with daily maintenance.
Our chickens run below the cages and scratch out bugs, the waste goes directly into the compost heap or the garden, this system is very green for the environment and keeps the rabbits healthy and far away from their waste.
Our Rhinelanders are housed in all wire units ranging from our largest 48" x 30" litter units to our smallest 36" x 30" standard holes for seniors and juniors alike. Our isolation cages which are our only stacking units are 30"x30" and housed in a completely separate barn. All rabbits who will use litter boxes have a box in their cage filled with pine pellets. Spot cleaning is performed on a daily basis with a once a week overhaul where the dropping areas are mucked out and twice a year we do major cleanings including pressure washing the wire cages.
We have 38 holes, but we try to keep only 20 holes fully occupied as this is a manageable number of senior rabbits.
We still have some work left to do, the frequent rain has hindered our schedule, but once the new setup is completed we will post a video tour of the new system!

Here are some bunnies testing out the new cages, they seem to like it!
